"And Moses said unto the
people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of
the LORD, which he will shew to you to day . . . The LORD
shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace" (Exodus
14:13-14)
Today's Thoughts
"Fear ye not" . . .
let the words ring in your ears!
Last year this time, everyone
was talking about it . . . everything you listened to
(television, radio, etc.) were proclaiming it aloud . . .
every newspaper, every magazine, every periodical, and even
many churches! Fear was mounting by the minute concerning
the possible events connected with "Y2K". And now,
here we are one year later, and no one hardly remembers the
feeling of fear that gripped their heart and caused their
lips to tremble! But, what does God have to say about all
the emotion . . . very simply He says, "Fear ye
not!"
We've all heard the song,
"He's Got the Whole World In His Hands" and
nothing could be more truthful! But the question is, do we
believe it, and if we do, why do we walk in fear of problems
we aren't even sure exist! And, if they DO exist, why can't
we trust God to keep us in the palm of His hand.
His Word says He promises to
protect you, shelter you, provide for you, and according to
today's verse, "the LORD shall fight for you!" All
through the Word of God there are examples of God's
omnipotence . . . His power . . . to do just what He has
promised to do and even more!
Is there reason for us to
fear? No! Is there reason for us to doubt? No! Moses told
the people that "the LORD shall fight for you, and ye
shall hold your peace." If you allow Him to fight your
battles . . . if you allow Him to take care of you . . .
nothing . . . ABSOLUTELY NOTHING . . . can rob you of the
peace that He has given you . . . you shall HOLD YOUR PEACE!
With another new year soon
approaching, don't allow fear to rob you of the blessing
found in just knowing that God is in control and He is
working EVERYTHING for your good because you love Him and
are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).
Today's Prayer
Father, forgive me for entertaining thoughts of fear. Lord,
help me look at this new year as an opportunity for me to
realize that fear is not of you but peace is . . . the kind
of peace that passes all understanding! Lord teach me to
cast any fear and doubt far away from me and to allow faith
to grow in my heart in all matters concerning life in this
age. Lord, I trust You, I love You, I will NOT fear! Amen!
