"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good
will toward men."
(Luke 2:14)
Today's Thought
The birth of the Christ Child,
according to the angel's proclamation, was meant to accomplish
two separate goals: To bring God glory, and to bring peace to
mankind!
First and foremost, God is to
receive the glory for this miraculous work of grace and mercy
toward mankind. All the works of God are for His glory,
however, the redemption of the world is for His highest glory!
Regardless of "when" this blessed event took place
(as some would contend over precise dates, etc.), the fact
remains that it "did" take place, the event for
which God is to be glorified . . . with the highest form of
glory possible! Praise Him . . . Glorify Him . . . Exalt Him .
. . for the wondrous work of the birth of our Redeemer, not
just during this
season, but every day of every year!
Secondly, bringing peace to
mankind was an act of God's good-will in sending the Messiah
for our benefit! All the peace that we have or ever hope to
have is a result of God's goodness, mercy, and grace toward us
who are so undeserving! But, to truly benefit from this gift
of "peace", we must give Him the glory for it! The
angels, at the birth of the Christ-child, proclaimed God's
peace had graced this world at last . . . now it is up to us
to come and partake of it! Peace with God means that mankind
is now reconciled with the Holy, Just Creator of all things!
Take time today (and every day!)
and repeat the sounding joy of the angelic hosts that
memorable night . . . Glory to God in the Highest! He's so
worthy of our praise!
Today's Prayer
Father, I love You, I praise
You, I adore You! I glorify Your name in all the earth! Not
just for the peace that You gave . . . not just for the Gift
of eternal life . . . not just for Your goodness, mercy, and
grace toward me . . . Father, I glorify You because of Who You
are . . . not for any work that You have done! There is truly
none like You in all of creation! You are worthy of all glory,
honor, and praise! Amen!
Have a blessed day!
